Feria Colors Set 1

Okay. Yes, I've been gone a while...again.
I'm sorry. I have stuff for you today, though. Not big stuff, but stuff I've sort of been meaning to do for a while.

Hair colors.
Yay?

So, you have Anubis's presets.
Maybe you have MissBonBon's Pooklet presets, too.
You may also have the bright colors from last year's GOS Advent that Moriye did.
There are surely others. I know I have quite a few color presets added to my game.

But there are never enough lol.
Not if I want my sims to look even more...well...not like bin sims with EA preset colors.

So, yes, I know you can do this yourself. Go ahead. Be my guest. I'd probably download them, too.
But I sat down with Feria dye swatches and a color picker...and I made more colors.
Feria colors. Not natural colors, though SOME people have SOME of these colors in real life. But I don't know many people with naturally plummy hair.

As I said, I didn't do anything you couldn't.

But I did it already, so why should you have to?

These ARE in .sims3pack, I'm sorry you have to open the stupid launcher for this.
There are 12 here. Feria has 36...or thereabouts...shades. You can do math. I hope. I didn't do all of them. I call this Set 1.

You've seen my track record lately though.
Oh, and I don't have internet 90% of the time lately. Stupid internet.
So........
We'll see if I do more of these or not.

Don't hold your breath. Unless you hate air.
DOWNLOAD instead.

A different kind of life.

Um...sorry. I kind of dozed off there for a few months.

Phew, but am I SLEEPY.

I've been rather busy and I hate to think I've abandoned the blog for this long, but life has been crazy. Between my job and getting my little one ready for kindergarten, the summer just flew and when I had time off, I couldn't sit down on the couch without zonking out. Hormones. Phuarg. What a bother.

I have done SOME stuff. Over at CS3 in the Lots part of my section, I have done some renovations of some community lots like Le Petit Shark and the Sunnyside Strand, that ugly blue pool and the empty strip of beach below the Wolff place.

I've also taken to emptying out EA's houses, polishing 'em up and changing up the terrible color choices and then posting them as empty lots, ready to jump in and decorate. I have done some minor rebuild work on a few, nothing you couldn't do in a pinch yourself, I'm not much of a builder, but I was doing these for myself initially to give me some empty cleaned out lots to play with and decided I could share too, and that if it saved someone an hour of fixing non-recolorable fences and staircases and pools-that-should-be-fountains and toning down terrible color schemes so that you can live with them until you decide exactly what colors you want to put in there for yourself...well, that's an hour saved. They still have kitchen counters and bathroom fixtures and lighting, they're not entirely barren, but there should be no store content in any of them and most of them are base game only (though patched) that I've released to this point. I have a few more in progress, so if you like what's there, I've got some on the way, too.

Those are in the Lots area over there as well, the few I've done so far.

I'll maybe post better pictures and alternate links here soon since there's a limit on image size at CS3 for forum storage's sake.

And now back to getting my kid ready for school. At least I generally get a few hours of quiet in the afternoon that I've been able to do SOMETHING.

I've been FRAMED!--Framed Fabric Swatches

My ideas folder has gotten little use of late.
I decided, due to lack of posting frequently in recent months, that it was time to do something about that. Something small, something simple, but something to make myself happy.

Firstly, I love fabric. I ADORE fabric. I buy fabric because I love the patterns on it, I think it's beautiful, and I even EVENTUALLY make stuff with it lol.
In all of my perusing, I have fallen in love with so many of the patterns you can find at Moda Fabrics.
There is a design tip I have read many times that if you can't find a suitable piece of art to set up a room or tie a room together, you can always frame pieces of a fabric that match your theme or that you just love instead of a piece of artwork.
I adore a set from the Moda Archive called Central Park by Kate Spain. It's whimsical, sweet and charming. The patterns can be used from the nursery to teenage, depending on the print. The colors are cute and there are neutral as well as feminine.
So, using one of the lovely new small meshes by Bau at b5studio in his Ephemera set under the heading "Is a pie chart art?" I have framed some swatches of Central Park for my own, and maybe your pleasure.

In both file formats. Standard TOU applies.

There are at least 18 variations included, there are probably a few others, but since they're color variations on the same themes, they started running together. Surprises can be good, though.

So much goes on.

I'm hoping this week is quiet...aside from work, I could use a bit of a break from reality, I have so much stuff I've had to do lately. I've been watching all of the pose stuff that's been coming out, the pose player is very cool in concept. I've struggled a little to get much actually completed with it so far, but as more poses come out, I've had tons of ideas of things I'd like to do with the stuff.

Aside from that, I don't know. I have some ideas, some things I'd like to figure out how to do if I can dissect some similar projects and see how their creators did it.

We'll have to see. Lots on my mind, but I'm still here.
And just cuz it's my blog and I feel like it, a random pic from my game:

YAY! CS3 is back!

Okay, so it didn't EXACTLY go anywhere, but Custom Sims 3 was slowly falling apart due to some code errors and etc, but Regina has finally gotten the new forum up and running and has closed the old site down. Because of the types of issues that were happening, she couldn't just port all of the info straight over, so it is effectively a new forum entirely. If you HAD registered with the old CS3, please re-register. I and the other creators over there will be re-uploading all files that had been at the old site. Some of us are quicker than others, I've been pretty slow about getting mine done.

I will probably continue to post much of my stuff in both my section there and this blog, since that helped me not lose the stuff the last time...that and there doesn't seem to be tons of overlap between CS3 and people who catch my stuff here.

Anyways, not a big deal, I'm just happy to see my other home back up and running the way it should and I will have to plug away at getting my stuff re-posted there. At least I haven't been TOO prolific lol.

A Requested Update

So, Custom Sims 3 is still having technical difficulties. I had a set of Disney posters I had posted in 3 chunks over there with the Goth Poster mesh, the one with the pins in it, 7 posters per set, but sadly because of the way the files were created, you could only have a single image overlay per .package. Then I got a request to post a new link to those and I wanted to, but I also wanted to make them BETTER. I got a prototype SORT OF working, but nothing I felt comfortable sharing and had about given up.

Then I started chatting with Eric from Baufive, who has done some fabulous stuff about another project he'd done and he shared with me a reworking of the Goth Poster mesh that can have multiple overlays.

So, they're back and they're like new and they're better than ever because now, if you had them before or you're seeing them for the first time, all 21 of my classic Disney posters in one handy dandy file (.sims3pack or .package, of course).

Anyways, yes, they're pretty much the same as the first time I did them, so, they should look pretty much the same. Same TOU as usual--be kind, rewind, sharing is caring, but don't put 'em where they don't belong.

No Soup Cans Here, Some Andy Warhol Art

So, for the past few days I haven't had internet. I also had a day or 2 off. Since I didn't have anything else to do, I started digging around in the piles of .jpgs I have stashed in folders just for the purpose of creating stuff for my sims to have.

The first thing I dug out was some Andy Warhol prints that I really like. Not his iconic Marilyn Monroes or Campbell's soup cans, I like those, but I really enjoy some of his other works like the "25 Cats Named Sam" and some of his other kind of quirky designs.

Just a little pop for your culture. I'd say it was nothing special, but that's not quite true. ;oP
